Save Our Animals Rescue

I would like to introduce you to a new organization that seeks to help injured and sick animals in our community. Save Our Animal Rescues (SOAR) was formed to help animals in acute need of critical medical or surgical care. We seek to primarily help those animals in rescue situations but also those belonging to individuals who prove financial need. We are currently limiting our services to Amherst County with hopes of expanding to other counties in the near future.

We ask that you refer to us those animal cases which meet our criteria for financial assistance. Applications are available at veterinarian offices located in Amherst County and our local shelter. Once approved, the requested funds are paid directly to the medical provider. Since our start in August 2011, we have provided assistance to over 125 animals (dogs, cats, a rabbit and even a parrot!) – all referred to us from local rescues and veterinarians. We are very fortunate to have such a wonderful working relationship with the Humane Society of Amherst County and the local veterinary community.

Funds for SOAR are gathered through donations, fundraisers and community markets. We are also introducing “The SOAR Store” – an etsy site that will offer many of our artesian crafts that make great gifts for friends and family. Your generosity will allow us to continue our mission of helping animals in need.
